Roundtable

Knowledge base editors

March, 1998

This article summarizes the issues and concerns raised by participants in our February, 1998 Knowledge Base Editor Roundtable. Includes candid comments on enterprise-wide strategic issues, "nuts and bolts" issues, and cutting edge issues. Participants included major chemical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and professional services firms.

Those present represented a diversity of skills and roles, including:

  • Librarian, technical writer, and "issues manager" (a branch of corporate communications concerned with the corporation's response to the business, regulatory, and social environment)
  • Training and organization development
  • Strategy and finance
