Primer: Ontologies & the Semantic Web

March 17 - 18, 2010

Designed for the metadata-savvy layman, this teleconference approaches the topic from both a big picture, business-oriented perspective (i.e. the what and why) and a nuts-and-bolt view (i.e. the how). You will learn how to:

  • decide whether the Semantic Web is right for your application;
  • create a Semantic Web information model and map the relationships you'll need;
  • export metadata from a relational database into a Semantic Web format;
  • see how your own data looks in a simple Semantic Web application.
